On Tuesday, August 26, 2024, the Premier Soccer League released a statement stating that the decision to postpone the game was taken on the recommendation of the stadium management and the City of Cape Town officials, who recorded gale-force winds with an average speed of 67 km/h. Unfavorable weather conditions have caused stadium facilities to be affected, buildings to collapse, and fallen trees to obstruct roadways.

Purchased tickets for the postponed game will still be good for the new date.
