TS Galaxy Appoints A New Coach
Following Sead Ramović’s resignation, TS Galaxy moved quickly to name a replacement for their head coach. In a post-match interview with Supersport TV, Sead shocked South African soccer fans, notably TS Galaxy supporters, by announcing his resignation live on television. On Wednesday, November 6, 2024, following a 1-1 match with Stellenbosch FC at Athlone Stadium, he resigned. This comes after Galaxy’s winless run in the league this season reached six games, with the draw in Cape Town being their second point of the year.
“This is one of the most beautiful clubs in my heart and I would like to say that from now on I will resign. I am not the head coach of this club anymore.” said Sead on his last day at TS Galaxy.
Galaxy quickly decided to name Adnan Beganovic, Sead’s former assistant coach, as their new head coach.
“We are very clear. Our coaching position is not a crisis. When Sead came, soon after he had landed; he had brought two assistants and they happened to be UEFA Pro License Assistants and I was clear again then to say this will give us a good caution that should it happen in the future that we lose our coach; probably one of those assistants can step in.” TS Galaxy Chairman Tim Sukazi told SABC Sport.
“As (it) matters stand Adnan Beganovic will remain as a head coach.” concluded Sukazi. When asked if Adnan is going to be an interim coach, he clearly put it that Adnan will be the head coach as he does not believe in having a coach as an interim.
Vuyo Mere, a former co-coach of Galaxy’s DSTV Diski Challenge team, will help Beganovic. Prior to hanging his boots at TS Galaxy, Mere previously played for Highlands Park, Platinum Stars, and Mamelondi Sundowns.
