Kaizer Chiefs Supporter Saddam Maake Captured In A Scuffle
Saddam Maake, a well-known Amakhosi supporter, was caught on camera in a scuffle with a female Orlando Pirates fan at Orlando Stadium during a Tuesday, November 5, 2024, Orlando Pirates vs Richards Bay FC game. Orlando Pirates won the game 1-0, solidifying their number one spot in the Betway Premiership.
The woman’s father, Lucky Mazibuko, who saw the incident, told Times Live that Saddam began insulting and “manhandling” his 19-year-old daughter Khanyi Zungu after he got into a fight with another fan.
“There was an altercation between Saddam and a Venda Boy with another guy. Then Saddam became aggressive towards my daughter. I realised it was a problem. They were dishing out insults towards her. I went down to talk to Saddam and find out why he is so aggressive towards these children … because he was abusive and he couldn’t cool off,” Mazibuko said
“In the pictures that are viral on social media, everyone can see him being aggressive and manhandling my daughter. So, I decided to go to the nearest police station and open a case,” Mazibuko concluded.
Captain Mavela Masondo, a police spokesperson, stated: “Police can confirm that a case of intimidation has been opened and investigation is under way. No arrest has been made yet.”
Maake was approached by Ngcobo2010 Sharp Eye, who gave his version of events. “I went to the stadium early that day and purchased tickets for my fellow fans. As usual, we stood in front of the stadium after entering. Some women approached us as we were standing there. As usual, I was occupied taking pictures with my phone, so I didn’t give them any more attention. Then, I heard a commotion behind me, but I dismissed it because I assumed they were joking around with one another.” Maake said.
“After that, I heard the two women telling us that this is not FNB Stadium and that we are making noise. They ignored my attempts to calm them down. One of them ignored me when I ordered her to behave. You can check one of the circulated photos as I had pointed a finger at her warning her.” Saddam clarified.
“Since the women were unwilling to listen, I decided to inform the security about them, and upon my return, I encountered two men who addressed me by name and inquired about the situation. I proceeded to explain everything to them,” Maake concluded.
