The 13th Gauteng Sport Awards were held on November 24, 2024, and Relebohile Mofokeng, a young football star, won Sport Personality of the Year.

Hugo Broos, the coach of Bafana Bafana, was impressed by his performance at Orlando Pirates and chose him to join the South African national team at the age of 19.
Mofokeng, a 20-year-old from Sharpeville, defeated rivals Akani Simbine, Dricus Du Plessis, Ronwen Williams, and Tatjana Smith to win the category that the public voted for by SMS.
Tatjana Smith, an Olympic swimmer, was named Sports Woman of the Year and received over R 350 000 in prize money at the Gauteng Sport Awards. She participated in the Paris Olympics, where she won a gold medal in the 100-meter breaststroke with a time of 1:05.00 and a silver medal in the 200-meter breaststroke with a time of 2:19.01.
The Gauteng Journalist of the Year award went to Vuyo Macoba of Newsroom Afrika, and the Sports Photographer of the Year award went to Pitsi Vincent Matlou, also known as Vino Snap. Thank you.”
