Amakhosi Welcomes Their New Technical Team
The new head coach of Kaizer Chiefs and his technical staff have been formally confirmed. Coach Mohamed Nasreddine Nabi, who brought his own technical team, was named head coach by the club.
This follows Chiefs’ dismal performance in the 2023–2024 DSTV Premiership season, where the team finished in 10th place on the log and will not be able to compete in the MTN8 Tournament this year.
Khalil Ben Youssef, who most recently worked with coach Nabi at AS Far, where they qualified the team for the CAF Champions League after finishing as league runners-up in Morocco, was also appointed by the club as the first assistant coach.
The second assistant coach is Fernando Da Cruz who also has a UEFA Pro licence and has also worked in different countries as a coach, technical director, scout and a youth coach, in countries such as Belgium, France and Morocco.
Ilyes Mzoughi, the goalkeeping coach, has experience coaching several teams in the Middle East and Africa. In addition, he served as the national team of Mauritius’ goalie coach.
Chiefs have also appointed Safi Majdi, an assistant coach and strength and conditioning coach who formerly worked with Etoile du Sahel in Tunisia during their 2022–2023 league championship. In Morocco, he also worked for Wydad Athletic and Raja Casablanca.
Pre-season training camp is now being conducted in Turkey by the Amakhosi new technical team.
