Arrows vs Pirates Match Abandoned
The match between Lamontville Golden Arrows and Orlando Pirates, set to occur on Wednesday, 19 February 2025 at Mpumalanga Stadium in Hammarsdale, has been called off due to a waterlogged field.
The Sea Robbers were unable to close the gap on log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns as mother nature disrupted their path in KwaZulu Natal against Abafana Besthende on Wednesday evening. This follows a steady rainfall that led to water accumulation at the stadium. The match could not start as the match commissioner instructed the two teams not to play nearly 20 minutes before kickoff time. Unfortunately, the stadium does not have an adequate water drainage system.

Pirates currently have three games in hand and are positioned second in the league standings, trailing the current champions Sundowns, who are securely at the top of the table with 45 points, while Pirates have 33 points.

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) was unable to promptly decide on a new date since Pirates has a home game against Cape Town City on Saturday, 22 February 2025, whereas Arrows visit Supersport United on Sunday, 23 February 2025 just three days and four days after the current match postponement respectively, but it assured that the new date will be announced in due time.
