Bafana Bafana Moves Top Of Group C

South Africa moves to the top of Group C following a 2-0 victory against Lesotho at the packed Peter Mokaba stadium. Mzansi football supporters were not let down as they purchased all the match tickets to back their beloved national soccer team, marking the 4th straight sold-out event following Bloemfontein, Gqeberha, and Cape Town.

Relebohile Mofokeng and Jayden Adams aim to pull two points clear of Benin. They both scored their first international goals.

South Africa began like a house on fire, putting pressure on Lesotho throughout the first half, but Lesotho countered by overwhelming their defense. Bafana Bafana squandered numerous opportunities in the first half.

Hugo Broos’ team returned explosively in the second half, launching attacks on Lesotho from all directions until the 60th minute, when Elias Mokoana’s ingenuity assisted Mofokeng, who found the net to net his first international goal. This boosted Bafana Bafana as they scored their second goal in the 63rd minute through Jaden Adams.

Relebohile Mofokeng was named man of the match for assisting Bafana in securing the top position in Group C with 10 points. They will go to Arbijan, Ivory Coast to play against Benin on Tuesday, 25 March 2025.
