Chiefs Missed Out On Three Points Against Galaxy
Kaizer Chiefs hosted TS Galaxy in a Betway Premiership match at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Saturday, 5 April 2025. Both teams were eager to improve upon their previous performances, with Kaizer Chiefs coming off a 2-1 defeat to Golden Arrows and TS Galaxy having suffered a similar 2-1 loss to Marumo Gallants.
The opening half saw both teams creating opportunities but failing to convert them into goals. The deadlock was broken in the 60th minute when Wandile Duba scored for Kaizer Chiefs, giving the home side a 1-0 lead. Following his goal, Duba was seen limping due to being kicked by the TS Galaxy defender at the moment he scored, though he eventually recuperated.
In the 70th minute, Inacio Miguel suffered an injury which compelled coach Nasreddine Nabi and his technical staff to make a change, bringing Edmilson Dove on for Miguel.
In the 75th minute, TS Galaxy leveled the match with a goal from Mlungisi Mbunjana, making it 1-1 after Edmilson Dove almost scored an own goal, which was saved by Bruce Bvuma and fell to Mbunjana, who seized the chance to equalize.
Chiefs had an upper hand as they held 55% of the possession, while TS Galaxy had 45% with both the teams registered 3 shots on target each. This draw resulted in Kaizer Chiefs remaining in eighth position with 30 points from 24 matches, while TS Galaxy stayed in fourth place with 36 points from 25 matches.
