Jammin 2 Soccer Tournament Messed Up

The highly anticipated 2024 Jammin 2 Soccer event has finally taken place. On Sunday, July 21, 2024, Tsakane Stadium served as the venue for the tournament.

Hip Hop FC defeated Maskandi FC in the opening game at 10h00, while Gospel FC defeated Gqom FC in the second game at 12h00, with Gqom FC winning by two goals to one.

The third match between the two losers was scheduled to begin at 14h00, however Gospel FC filed a protest against Gqom FC, claiming that the latter had broken a rule. The regulation that required each of the four teams to field a female player who had to participate for at least ten minutes was broken.

When it was found that Gqom FC’s female player had not pitched, they chose to substitute another woman for the original. The second woman’s name was not on the teamsheet, therefore the match authorities were unable to let her in.

Despite the fact that Gospel FC was defeated by Gqom FC, they believed that the result was unfair because Gqom FC did not register a female player.

To resolve the matter at hand, SABC Sports summoned the four captains. In order to make everyone happy, it was suggested that all of the teams compete in penalty shootouts. However, the captains were unable to resolve the matter, therefore SABC Sports removed their cameras and ceased airing the remaining games.

To appease their devoted fans who packed Tsakane Stadium, the clubs agreed to play the final two games as friendlies. When Maskandi FC faced Gospel FC, they prevailed on penalties. In the final match, Hip Hop FC defeated Gqom FC by a score of one goal to zero.

It is not clear if the fifth addition of the tournament will come as all the players were not happy about the entire situation.
