“Pirates Supporters Must Stop Booing Their Own Players.”

Orlando Pirates have won four trophies in the last two seasons thanks to the hiring of new coach Jose Riveiro and his technical staff, who have delighted the team’s supporters. In just two seasons, he brought two MTN8 trophies and two Nedbank Cups. In the 2024 MTN8 event, he is presently in the semifinals and is eager to defend and win the title three times in a row.

Ngcobo2010 Sharp Eye spoke with Jimmy Sebone, a.k.a. Motlokwa, a well-known Orlando Pirates supporter. His hometown is Eisleben, which is located in Botlokwa, Limpopo.

Jimmy moved to Alexandra in the Gauteng region after growing up in the Capricorn District Municipality in Limpopo, South Africa where he is able to attend all of the Pirates’ home and away games. He currently works in Midrand.

“I started supporting Orlando Pirates back in 1995 when my team won CAF Champions League in Abijan where the likes of Jerry “Legs Of Thunder” Sikhosana, Edward “Magents” Motale and other Pirates players who made South Africa proud by being the first team to win the prestigious African Tournament and getting their first star.” said Motlokwa.

Like every other Pirates supporter, Jimmy is pleased with his coach, Jose Riviero, and wants him to give their chairman, Dr. Irvin Khoza, a second star. Pirates defeated Disciples FC 4 goals to zero on aggregate to earn a spot in the CAF Champions League preliminary (second) stage. On September 13, 2024, and September 20, 2024, they play Jwaneng Galaxy FC, the team that eliminated them from the same tournament in 2023.

“I’m glad the young boys have a chance to shine under the guidance of the best coach in the league. Jimmy stated, “It is imperative that he and his technical team, which includes coach Mandla Ncikazi, provide our Chairman with a second star.” “Our boys must also be the first to win the inaugural Betway Premiership in honor of the late Stanley “Screamer” Tshabalala, may his soul rest in peace.” concluded Motlokwa.

In order to end this window period on a high note, Motlokwa would like his squad to recruit at least one striker. Orlando Pirates have signed four players during this window. “While I am pleased with the four players we have bought, I would prefer that Pirates acquire Azis Ki, a young African striker. Sebone declared, “He is among the best attackers in Africa, and he will fit right in at Pirates.

When the Pirates defeated Disciples FC 4 to 0 on Friday, August 23, 2024, at Orlando Stadium, some of their supporters were heard insulting their captain, Innocent Maela. This infuriated Motlokwa. “I want Pirates supporters to know that our players depend on us, so they should cease supporting our own players. When players perform poorly, they are booed, but when they score, we celebrate. This is unacceptable!” explained Motlokwa. “Lastly, I just want to encourage everyone who supports the sixteen PSL teams to please remember to respect time. To avoid disappointment, they ought to purchase their tickets in time and arrive to the stadium early,” pleaded Motlokwa.

In addition to being a passionate soccer player, Motlokwa is a licensed coach with a C License in Coaching. The devoted Bhakaniya declared, “One day I would like to coach a team in the PSL.”
