The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has officially unveiled the list of nominees for the highly anticipated 2024/2025 PSL Awards. The announcement was made on Tuesday, 15 July 2025, setting the stage for what promises to be a thrilling celebration of local football excellence.

The annual awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday, 29 July 2025, kicking off at 19:00 SAST. Football fans across the country will be able to watch the prestigious event live on SuperSport PSL (Channel 202) and SABC Sport, as South Africa’s finest footballers, coaches, and officials are recognised for their outstanding performances throughout the season.

The PSL Awards honour achievements across multiple categories including Footballer of the Season, Coach of the Season, Young Player of the Season, and Goalkeeper of the Season, among others. The shortlist includes some of the most consistent performers from the Betway Premiership, Motsepe Foundation Championship, and other competitions under the PSL umbrella (MTN8, Nedbank Cup & Carling Black Lable Cup).

This year’s event is expected to be especially competitive following a thrilling season filled with dramatic finishes, standout individual displays, and breakthrough talent that has taken South African football by storm.

Elvis Chipezeze also stepped up for Magesi FC, playing a vital role in their Carling Black Label Cup triumph. His efforts earned him two nominations as well; Goalkeeper of the Season and Carling Knockout Player of the Tournament.

In a remarkable return to glory, Kaizer Chiefs dominated the Nedbank Cup Player of the Tournament category after their stunning performances led Amakhosi to lift their first major trophy in 10 years. The trio of Inacio Miguel, Pule Mmodi, and GastĂłn Sirino earned nominations following standout displays throughout the competition. Their skill, determination, and big-match temperament proved vital in Chiefs’ historic Nedbank Cup triumph, marking a new era for the Soweto giants and bringing long-awaited silverware back to Naturena.
